What is Multi-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
2FA is an extra layer of security used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are. First, a user will enter their username and a password. Then, instead of immediately gaining access, they will be required to provide another piece of information.
For enterprise users, your workspace administrator can determine whether 2FA is mandatory or not.
Setting up 2FA
After you have logged into Horizon, go to Account Settings (left panel) > Security and click Enable/Configure Two-Factor Authentication.
You can choose a time-based one-time password (TOTP) or Short Message Services (SMS) authentication method as a second source of verifying your account.

A. Configuring 2FA using a TOTP mobile app
1. Download a TOTP app on your mobile device. You may use any TOTP apps such as:
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Google Authenticator
- 1Password
- Authy
- LastPass Authenticator
IMPORTANT: Wizpresso is not affiliated with any of the above-mentioned authentication applications and bears no liabilities from the use of these applications by users.
2. When prompted to set up 2FA, select Authenticator App, and Scan the QR code with the TOTP app on your mobile device. After scanning, the mobile TOTP app will display a six-digit code which can be inputted into the Wizpresso application.
3. On the Wizpresso application, type the six-digit code under Step 2 and click Confirm.
4. If you have more than one 2FA authentication method set up, you can set the default methodology every time you log in.
Once TOTP 2FA is set up, you must enter the code generated from the TOTP app from your mobile device whenever you log in to Wizpresso.

B. Configuring 2FA using SMS
1. When prompted to set up 2FA, click SMS then type your country code and mobile phone number, and click Send Code.
2. Type the six-digit code you receive on your mobile device under Step 2, and click Confirm
3. Once SMS 2FA is set up, enter the code sent via an SMS from your mobile device whenever you log in to Wizpresso.
We utilize AWS Application-to-person (A2P) messaging protocol for SMS authentication. For a detailed list of supported regions and countries, please refer to the page here.
